The Danish Migraine Association is an independent patient organisation. Our goal is to make the world a little bit better for migraineurs

The Association was established in 1983 and has since worked for migraine sufferers and their relatives. The association's main purpose is to provide information about migraine and all that follows from having migraines.

We do not accept support from pharmaceutical companies or others who are trying to sell items specifically for migraines. We receive support from Tips and Lotto, and others who have no special interest in migraine.

We are not mebers of a number of international umbrella organization of patient associations for migraineurs which are funded directly or indirectly from the pharmaceutical industry. We believe that we thereby have greater credibility, both to our members and to our partners and opponents.

There is no doubt about our motives and intentions when we speak on behalf of migraine sufferers. Our goal is also to provide better care and cheaper drugs for migraine sufferers,  through dialogue with practitioners and policymakers.

The board  is elected among migraineurs, who spend their free time on this important task. We occasionally buy professional assistance from, for example, IT experts when there are technical tasks that the volunteers can not copewith.

The Association publishes MigræneNyt (MigraineNews) 4 times a year. The magazine is written by members and provides the latest news from the research on migraine treatments and causes of migraine.

In addition, members may participate in a mail group, where it is possible to get advice from other migraine sufferers, and have access to the members area on this site.

Membership is open to all. Individuals pay 195 DKK per year, family membership 290 DKK and a special rate is available for young people (up to 25 years) at 90 DKK.
