These patient organisations are members of World Headache Alliance, an umbrella organisation for national patient organisations; World Headache Alliance was established by the doctors' professional organisation International Headache Society and the activities are often sponsored by the medical industry.
The Danish Migraine Association has chosen not to become a member of World Headache Alliance, as we believe a patient organisation must be independent of the medical industry and doctors, as there are situations when we wish to be critical about them.

Internet sites by the medical industry
The producers of migraine medicine continually create internet sites with information about migraine.These sites may include valuable information, but, of course, also have the purpose of increasing our awareness about the medicine produced by the site owner. Medical company sites often carry the logo of the owner. As sites in Danish are regarded legally as 'information to patients', they should not include adverts for specific medicines.
Many sites from providers of complementary medicine and treatment also give information about migraine.
As always, the information in a web site is there for a purpose. Be aware what it is!
